Lester is at the eastern edge of the Tacoma Water Shed. You cannot access it from the west side. Therefore, you must go to I-90 exit 62 ten miles east of Snoqualmie Pass summit, turn off at Stampede Pass exit, cross Stampede Pass westbound on Forst Road 54, and drive the 8 or ten miles down to the Water Shed east gate. Then you walk about a mile and a half down a road to Lester.

Forest Road 54 is snowed in now. Depending on the snow season, it can melt out anywhere from May to early July. Last year it was early July. Some years a logger plows it early, but that is rare.
