When companies went from a mix of college grads & people rising through the ranks, things ran better simply because the two sides had people with a large range of knowledge to play off each other. Then the rising through the ranks folks were considered dinosaurs and pushed out. Time for the MBA's & diversity hires who didn't know @#$%& about anything.
Boeing is a perfect example. Once one of the best aircraft companies on the world, they were primarily run by engineers. Then the MBA types took over. How far behind is their latest NASA contract? It's amazing them haven't declared bankruptcy yet.
The Class 1's are headed down the same path.
