Speaking of innovative HSR. Any progress in developing non-wire diesels, hydrogen, veggie oil, whale poo, etc engines or trainsets that can run over 125 mph?

It would be great if we could get HSR engines or trains that can reach 150+ mph without needing wires. I don't care if it is diesel or coal or hydrogen or helium or unicorn farts or harnessing the power of perpetually super bouncy rubber balls in a Son of Flubber Express. I would guess batteries don't have the capacity yet for HSR corridors longer than short jaunts. Like 100 miles. Would be cool if they can of course.
But what about now for the rest? I heard a rumor Brightline contemplated 150 mph for their diesels in flat Florida. But ended up at 125 mph. Which is all that is needed for their short stretch without crossings. Maybe when they expand to Tampa. are the Seimens engines good for 150 mph now? Everyday ops, not just testing? Any other type of fuel engines or sets that can do it? Or even just 135 mph or 140 mph?
It is hard to believe that after all these years, decades in fact, that we can't break the 125 mph daily op barrier for non electric rail power. Of did we and I can't find it on the Googles?
