So what is the point of sending us to this website. We are all locked out - and threatened to boot! All we can tell from this is that there is some kind of legal action being taken - but about what?
I suppose that where there is smoke, there is fire; still it would be nice to find official confirmation somewhere. Reports of certain customers claims of continuing rail services from Modoc Northern; while other reports of phones being turned off and offices being vacated; are indeed very confusing. How does this customer know such a thing, if he can't contact anyone at the railroad?
Hmmmm - at least one of these reports has to be false, if not all of them. But which ones? So just how accurate are the reports that U.P. has already seized the trrack. I would have thought, that court action would have to be completed and a court order be issued already, for that to happen. Go figure. . . . . .
If some of these reports are indeed true, then Union Pacific, the responsible owner, is kicking out the Modoc Northern, the apparently irresponsible lessor operator.
Now - that is what the N.C.R.A., the responsible owner, should have done to the North Western Pacific, the definitely irresponsible lessor operator; long before the C.P.U.C. and F.R.A. did it for them (see the previous post "Federal Shutdown of FRA" 1-26-08).
Now, if the UP could do this, even before a court order is issued; why in the he!! couldn't the NCRA have done the same. They would not have opened themselves up to all these insufferable political and legal problems, had they actually been the "responsible" owner.
Nor would we have had so much flamage and insufferable red-bated name calling and labeling, over our diverse political perspectives related to the NWP. Of course, we could have handled that one ourselves, with just some simple respect - if we just would!
