A review of the documents available at the "Justia" site that CRY referred to indicated that UP is indeed sueing Klamath Northern for $300,000 (for breach or contract), but simply filing suit and specifying an amount of requested damages is a loooooong way from actually getting a judgement/award. Given the typical court timelines, it is unlikely that any judgement could happen in less than a year, likely much longer, regardless of the validity/or not of any claims.
And sometimes filing suit is really a negotiating tactic, rather than an expectation of actually winning a a court case. (i.e., typical grade crossing accident lawsuit)
