One detour that might speed up north-south movements on the UP is to divert traffic in Stockton along the former WP to Binney Junction and then along the intended route. This precludes classification in Roseville.

One problem is a MOW project in the vicinity of Hammer Lane in Stockton. Does anyone know how much longer that work will be in progress?

Also, the San Joaquin schedules from Sacramento to Bakersfield should not be impacted.
