Good Evening Fellow Railfans,
If you use your favorite mapping program's (I prefer Google) satellite view, one can see the divergence of a former rail line off the Air Line between West Pico Blvd and Exposition Blvd east of the I-405 Freeway trending north-north westerly. Following the R-O-W north-northwesterly, one can see that the R-O-W is still mostly vacant on the west side of South Sepulveda Blvd. If I remember correctly, a low high rise building was constructed at the NW corner of Sepulveda and Santa Monica Blvd in the early 1980's which truncated this R-O-W. The idea at the time was to rebuild the line to help bring in 1984 Olympic traffic to UCLA.
Where exactly along San Vicente is this station building? Upon closer inspection of the VA, is the station between Pershing and Dewey on the VA grounds?
Nice photo Mr. Freericks.
Richard Elgenson, out.
