Looking at gmap-pedometer.com and toggling btw map, satellite and topo views, you can see where an old RR line once ran running NW along Sepulveda Blvd, from Home Junction to the Wadsworth Hospital Center (the VA property). In the topo view, the abandoned RR ended at S Gate Ave, just before reaching Santa Monica Blvd.

Old buildings are indicated in solid black, while newer ones are in purple. Various locations in and around the VA property are also annotated, including Soldiers Home.

The topo maps used on this website are recent enough that they don't show track locations inside the VA property. I'm sure there are some older topo maps somewhere on the internet, showing locations of the original old RR lines of this area.
