Tom,

Going across the bridge over the Naniamo river was a thrill! They dropped us off below the reload, as we didn't have official permission to ride. The sound of the whistle echoing off the hills, as they switched cars, is still bouncing around in my brain!

On the donwgrade with loads, the brake sounds about deafened us. Did you meet the guy up in the tower at the diamond? Don't remember his name, but he had the most intense eyes I've ever seen. He said, "you'll never forget me"! For whatever reason, I sure haven't!

On that trip, I was shooting with a Yashica 44, a Baby Rollei clone using 127 (2x2 super slide) film. Next trip, I'd moved up to a Mamiya C330 pro camera, but Naniamo lakes was dieselized. I spent a couple days with #4 at Chemainus.

Vancouver Island was a magic place. You have the black and white shot located correctly.
