You did quite well Steve as that locomotive was the least used of M-B's quartet that were around in the final years. The top photo looks like it might be coming up from the switchback.
2-8-2T 1055 from the woods operation was brought down to Chemainus and was running there at least as late as '72. She had been the last one to be shopped.
Your earlier comment about 1077 being covered under a tarp aways from the tie-up at the Lakes got me to thinking...there were a pair of stored ex-Army 0-6-0's that were under cover and sitting at the Camp end of the bridge over the Nanaimo River. Could this be what you saw?
Pete McGovern told me that 1077 was used about a month before they shut down the woods operation around Dec. of '69, some 40 years ago!
