From the October 1991 issue of Pacific RailNews: "In mid August, BN formally opened the $6.7 million Trinidad, Colorado bypass". Seems about right, I have a photo here of a train next to the downtown depot in 1987, and another with a set of LMX's on train 092 with crew changing at a grade crossing north of town in 1992. As a recall some of the tracks are still present at either end, and for a while at least, there was a brewpub in the depot.
