Believe me when I say it is not bragging. $729 is more than one months retirement benefit from IBM and it HURTS! The purpose of the fine is to "teach" me not to do it again. (at 75 I have respected the law enough to have a clean driving record) Possibly for me to teach others. Since it happened NOT ONE PERSON has learned anything when I mention it. Nobody has learned that the Judge can not do anything but collect the $729. The state tells him that he can't reduce it or impose (for instance) 100 hours of community service. Even though (being retired) I have the time but not the money.

Oh, and they will let me pay it off in monthly installments with HIGH interest rates.
