Palmdale and Lancaster are just unified, quite like the
San Gabriel Valley. When you have two City Councils that
kept showing up at all the CA High Speed Rail meetings
to demand that the route serve the Antelope Valley, you
end up with a consensus. In this case it was a strong
Republican area and the buy in of the community and all
the local support was strong enough to get this route.

Because these communities are a two hour Metrolink ride
from Los Angeles, the promise of a fast connection also
won strong support.
