The proposed Central Subway will become a line to nowhere when Caltrain's San Francisco terminus is moved northeast to the new Transbay Terminal facility. Scrap the project for now. It is high time for Muni, the City and County of San Francisco, and the residents and businessowners in the Richmond District to smell reality, realize that Federal funds for transit are becoming ever more scarce, and get behind restoration of some level of rail or bus-rapid transit service on Geary Boulevard (this east-west transit corridor is among Muni's busiest). The various permutations of the 38-Geary bus service simply will not do any longer.
