When the trench went in, what was left of the railroad feeling of the town vanished. And now that the trench is being covered over, the sound of a heavy westbound grinding uphill will soon be a memory. I'm really surprised the UP hasn't torn down the tower in Sparks yet.
NV, and Reno for that matter, is still a better place to gamble than CA Indian casinos any day.
Here's why... NV has a law that states that slot machines will be at least 75% loose, meaning they will pay out something at least 75% of the time. It may only be $0.50, but it did pay something. And the machines are certified by the NVGC as such. When I go to Reno, there's always some machine ringing because someone won a large payout.
CA refuses to believe that we have gambling here and therefore will enact no laws regulating it. Those Indian machines are cranked so tight that you hardly hear people winning in their casinos. Chief Royal Flush and his wife Aces High don't bother to make the machines any looser.
