Tom,
Unfortunately, neither Tom Miller nor Dad took any photos of logging lines! I don't know why either. Dad, in particular, liked Shays and logging mallets, and talked about many of them. He liked working the branches that dealt mostly in logs and forest products.
His favorite job was the "logger" that worked out of Tacoma, on duty around 1 or 2am. It took empties up to Lake Kapowsin to interchange with St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber Co. They brought something like 100 loads of logs a day back to town. I suppose he never took pictures up there as it was pitch dark, or possibly just dawn in the summer.
By the time I was out taking photos, the logging show was nearly over. Only Rayonier and a few lines on Vancouver Island were still using steam power, but that's another story!
