Around 2002 while railfanning Tehachapi, My buds and I got ran out of Cliff by a maintainer in a high-rail pick up. Later we saw him at Bealville pulling up the hi-rail wheels wearing, you guessed it, Shorts and tennis shoes. He did not appreciate being video taped.

Out here in So Cal, You can see shorts and tennis shoes or flip-flops at weddings,funerals,nice restaurants,airports,job interviews etc. At really formal occasions the ball cap is turned forward.
