First, other than wearing a flame orange hat when I was out trying to murder Bambi or due to inclement weather, I never wear a hat. For the last 12 years or so of my employment at Lindsay's/OneWorkplace, during warm weather I wore shorts and safety boots at work. I submit that, if safety equipment is required as a railfan, you are probably somewhere you don't belong anyway.

Shorts at a funeral? Yep, I had on shorts and a t-shirt for my mother's funeral.
