When this place sadly disappears and most of us move on the trainnews.org, we will find that trainnews.org has a post edit option. On other discussion boards with that kind of option I have found that after two or three post edits I usually have most of the typos, spelling and gramatical errors, and poor syntax corrected in my posts. As Carol noted above, it seems to be far more difficult to pick out your own errors than those made by others. I tend to see mine only well after my original post. My theory is that when you proof read your own stuff you tend to percieve what you intended to write and read right through the errors. Carol, if you were at Cal around 1958-9, you might remember days when the Daily Californian was full of typos....those were the days that I was the night editor...proof reading has always been a challenge for me!
