HUH ??? Most of the Right of Way for the Century Freeway had been obtained & cleared of structures since the early 1970's. The vacant land was quite a scar, as the area became a prime dumping ground for stolen cars, unwanted furniture & bodies. The few houses left, while boarded up, became drug labs. Caltrans spent more money to clean up the $#!t the second time than they spent to buy the R of W.
