Does anyone else find it troubling that in the case of the Metrolink/BNSF collision, the engineer said he could see the freight train pulling into the siding ahead of him. He was on a yellow signal, which he had passed 7000 feet previously. Yet, he was still moving at 76 MPH BEFORE he began appling the brakes, over a mile after passing the yellow. I'm glad I don't run on the same territory with this guy.
