For the record, from early 1965 until 1981, when double digit train number were adopted, the commute trains had the following numbers on weekdays:
Southbound, even numbers: 108-150
Northbound, odd numbers: 113-155
Weekend only trains were:
166 - Sat only.
168 - Sat, Sun & Hol
170 - Sat only
161 - Sun & Hol
163 - Sat only
165 - Sat, Sun & Hol
167 - Sat only
169 - Sun & Hol
171 - Sun & Hol
173 - Sat only
175 - Sun & Hol
Hence, an SDP45 never pulled a train #154 and even if it did, it wouldn't have been as shown in the photo. Before the train number was eliminated in 1965, train #154 left San Francisco at 10:00pm, in the dark.
At the peak of 27 trains each way around 1954-1957, the weekday numbers were:
Southbound, even numbers: 106-158
Northbound, odd numbers: 105-157
