The financial figures for China are not neccessarily valid elsewhere. They are totally controlled by the state. Comparisons with other nations are worthless.

When I was in Shanghai 30 years ago I watched gardeners cut grass in a park using scissors. China had a full employment policy. Those gardeners were fully employed. That's also one reason steam power lasted so long on Chinese railroads.
