I applaud efforts and funding that are going toward "Higher" Speed Rail projects such
as the Cascades Corridor here in the Pacific Northwest. I agree that high speed rail
is over hyped and is not necessary in many corridors.

With all the breakdowns sighted in a previous posting, how in the world is China transporting 7 million people in ONE DAY?? One would guess that most trains are operating without failure.
