Your allusion to "vodka" and "David" was shameful! (Unless it's an inside joke.)

He's right about individualism but I think that the 21st century will demonstrate that, absent paving the entire state, individuals in cars get to be a real traffic problem. I see commuter rail and other forms of mass transit as acceptable choices for the road-weary. If we move a small percentage of people off the roads during the rush hours, there will be less congestion and everybody will benefit. Balancing the cost to that benefit is the fundamental equation.
