Four Ways West book dents and dings

I really like the Four Ways West trains books and started a pretty big collection of them.
However, am I the only one who is very frustrated with the constant dents and dings on the covers? At least 1/3 of new books that I've purchased have come dented up - some I've returned and some I didn't inspect them until it was too late.
I was told by one book seller that he keeps asking Joe Shine to pack the books better when he sends them to the distributor, but he doesn't, and doesn't understand why it's even a problem if the books come dented.
I love the books, but this is a source of constant frustration when a new book comes that sure doesn't look like a new book because it has a hole, dent, bump, etc (all of which I've gotten on new FWW books). Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of getting a lot of garbage from several of the major train book distributors so I'm looking around to see who is the most reliable on-line train book store.
Am I the only one who experiences this problem? Any opinions as to the best book dealer who is most likely to ship new-looking undamaged FWW books?
Thanks in advance.
