Norman just had a book published by Strapac, California's Tidewater Railroads. He also has a SN book in the works, which I am publishing for him, titled, From the Valley to the Bay - A Journey on the Sacramento Northern. I inherited it last year from his previous publisher who sat on it for quite awhile before Norm decided to let me have a go at it. I'm grateful for the opportunity.

It is nearly complete, and it will be a decent book on the subject. Sacramento Northern has been "done to death" so we are taking our time on this one and coming up with a different angle on how to present it, and focusing on including a high percentage of previously unpublished images. I expect to have it on the market in the 4th quarter of this year.

As mentioned above, the WP book market has become a bit saturated, which is one reason I didn't jump to get this title out right away. There were already two or three other WP books in the pipeline at the time, all competing for individual's book-buying budgets. I hope the forthcoming release of this SN title is in a relatively uncrowded market although I'm sure Dale's WP book from Ken Meeker will be out by then and I'm sure it will be magnificent.

I have two more WP books in the works, volume 1 and 2 covering WP cabooses, a subject that has not really been done yet. After that, who knows? Some of you may be right about the WP book market being overdone, but we'll see.

Cheers!

Mike
