Makes No Sense To Me

It appears to be true. I talked with a railfan who spotted three hirails today in Aptos that had stopped in Aptos for lunch. When he asked the UP employees about the status of the branch they told him UP was taking it back next Monday. The West Sacramento branch must be very lucrative for the UP to give up the sale of the Santa Cruz Branch Line to the County.

Below are two pictures of two of the UP hirails as they cross the Capitola Trestle this afternoon.
