> OPB very clearly has an issue with government intervention.
Actually, "OPB" very clearly has an issue with gross misrepresentations, half truths, as well as "ad hominem" politics; all of which he freely rants against - often. But since he has not so far voiced any view on this issue whatsoever, it is damned presumptuous to put words in his mouth. Moreover, such presumptions reveal little more than ones own prejudices - don't they.
Besides which, your assertion is just plain false. Just do a search. Though he has voiced concerns about excessive, extreme, or unwarranted regulation; you will also find many essays advocating and defending government regulation, especially that of the CFR parts related to railroads, and their long history (that is where his expertise is). He often makes the same arguments for such regulation, that many of the Federalists made in defending their giving of economic powers to Congress. But I guess in some minds - the Federalism of our Forefather's day, is now viewed by some as some sort of extremism.
As to any "conspiracy theories" he might subscribe to, look again! In every report he has made of wrongdoing in high places, he has given mostly his own insider eyewitness testimony of things he has actually seen or been involved with; or has relayed the testimonials of others he knows well, that did themselves see it.
So I ask you, does it ever happen right here in River City - in America; that men conspire against one another in sometimes horrible and evil ways? Do politicians ever tell us one thing but do another? Do corporations ever get together to form cartels? Do they ever try to "take out" their competition in insidious ways? Do politicians and corporate presidents ever have their henchmen do their lying for them? Do politicians ever give in to "special interest" (corporate) back room deals made QUIETLY ? And kept hush hush, lest they be voted out by angry citizens?
Naaaaaahhhh!
VERB

------------ Angry clouds conspire your overthrow. — Bp. Hall. ---------
SHEESH - VERY STUPID POLLYANNA QUESTIONS ---- DUH - DOUBLE DUH - DUH TO INFINITY !!!
Of course, by that dictionary definition (wiktionary)- there is "conspiracy" all around us! Anyone who thinks not - is a myopic fool!
"The price of liberty - IS eternal vigilance."
Which is why every single democracy in history, eventually fell into tyranny.
WE ARE NEXT - it is only a question of when!
