Some of the observations on this board about NIMBYs and Marinites miss an important point. In the last election every Marin city except Novato passed the SMART propostion by a majority. Unfortunately due to the anti-democratic 2/3rds requirement it didn't win. Nonetheless, the people of Marin have indicated their support for a rail alternative to the 101 mess. Hopefully it will succeed the next time.
