The light bulb has been invented, and at least four different entities, with far more experience than the present idiots, have failed in even being able to operate a railroad THAT WAS STILL INTACT.

Their only problem was in running out of money, traffic base or both. Nobody says the NWP can't be rebuilt and operated in its entirety as long as an ENDLESS supply of funds is available. It's been proven that no private enterprise has been able to succeed in running the NWP and no sane operator at this point would even attempt it. Local greed for public money will keep the NWEP alive even after the last tie washes out to sea.
