This relates to my telling Sammie how to arrive at a small fortune, chuckle-chuckle. The reality
is that the visionary level required to equate the NWP with anything sensible seems to be something that inhabits the "public service" brain aka hey, it's only tax money why do you care??
Collect our taxes, admire your large fortune and in time turn it into a small fortune. I think
what "irks" us most is that for all the money spent there is so little to show for it. I look at
what Dick does with a couple of pieces of shortline trackage and a small budget and cry that we
can't find public service people with somewhat similar common sense. E's right, there's way more
of us who take an intelligent view of the industry than those out foaming.
