I believe the reason this information is being released now is because I called the SCCRTC last week and spoke with a member of the senior staff. I told them I have been aware of the proposals from Big Trees, Iowa Pacific, Railmark, and the Golden Gate Railroad Museum since March, but I have not seen any public mention of the names of the proposers. I was given permission to mention publically who the proposers are.

Yesterday I learned the SCCRTC was fielding questions from a Santa Cruz Sentinel reporter and I should expect to see an article in Wednesday’s paper. I suspect the Santa Cruz Sentinel reporter learned of my posts on the Altamont Press and West Coast Rail Forums last week naming Roaring Camp and Iowa Pacific as proposers and wanted more details.

We should know on May 17 who the committee recommends to be the new operator.
