Bank of America sues Rob Arkley for $50 million; Eureka businessman reportedly caught up in mortgage crisis
As the American mortgage crisis hit its height in late 2007, local businessman Rob Arkley pledged part of his personal fortune to back a loan his company received to purchase a pool of mortgages.
Almost three years later, Bank of America is now suing Arkley for $50 million, alleging that Arkley's company defaulted on the deal and that he breached his contract with the banking giant.
The bank is also asking the court to issue a temporary protective order to prevent Arkley from “transferring or concealing” property -- including Security National Master Holding Company, Sugar Bowl LLC and the Arkley family residence in Eureka -- until the suit is resolved.
