This crap does not belong here, but since it is...

Fears of foreigners buying up our railroads or other property is nothing new. Remember the 1980s when their was a lot of investment in the US by the Japanese? There was a lot of ridiculous histeria around that.

Gun owner paranoia has been stoked by Repbulicans and the NRA for purely self-serving reasons. Fundraisig and support. It's extremely effective. Also, ATF did the same gun sting operation under Bush.

Political suicide in the first term? You mean like the moderate health care reform that he pursued? The reform that lowers the amount the government spends on health care? That wasn't political suicide?

Bankrupt the country? Forbes (bastion of liberal bias, right?) just reported that Obama has grown the federal budget at the LOWEST rate (by far) since Ike. Citation In fact, if you look at the chart the federal budget has always grown less under Democratic presidents than Repbublicans. I know acknowledging this truth is impossible for many, but look it up.

Democrats such as Obama believe in investing in our country's infrastructure and want to do so in a fiscally responsible way. This includes investments in new industrial technology that can be developed and produced here such as new sources of energy. A healthy rail system is a part of that vision. Republicans systematically loot the treasury to benefit their golf buddies in the name of "privatization" and "free enterprise."

Look at the budget numbers, employment statistics, and GDP for the past 60 years. Democrats are better for our country, its workers, and its businesses.

This is absolutely factual, but people are distracted by wedge issues such as gun control (which has been a none-issue for many years), abortion, gay marriage, "religious freedom" (this is invariably trumped up outrage over very little), etc. All of which are window dressing compared to the bigger economic issues we face.

I'm voting for the guy that is going to continue to work to make the US a stronger country, and that is not Mittens. I find it amazing how much people gloss over the absolute devastation Bush and the Republicans left. They do not believe good government is possible, so they do their best to prove it each time they have power.
