Railfan trip in late June to Spokane area.

Question to the local area railfans in the Spokane area. A friend and I will be wanting to railfan the EWG and/or the W & I shortlines.. I have a contact for the EWG that posts occasionally to Altamont Press.. As I have never railfanned the W&I before, does anyone know if they regularly work fridays?? What is the status of the SP "F unit"?? What do they normally use for power?? Is the operation similar to the EWG where the conductor drives to a location and meet the train?? Is Stan Patterson still in charge of the W&I??

Also, does the POVA still run Monday thru Fridays or is it as needed now?? Last I knew, it was from Dover-Newport and Newport-Metaline Falls(??).. Is their even any industry in Metaline Falls now??
