Here's the latest scoop on the Kettle Falls International copied from the yahoo groups - BC Interior group.

I spoke with one of the KFIR crew members a couple of weeks ago and he advised that OMNITRAX has a contract with BNSF to operate the KFIR for 2 years either fall of 2013 or spring of 2014. (this may need clarification but it was from a person who does work at KFIR). Interfor is expanding their facility in Grand Forks as well which should mean more shipments and the slag pile is still very large. Both Pacific Abrasives and Interfor ship by truck as well as rail. Currently 4 unplacarded tank cars being unloaded at the spur at end of track at the border as well."
