I got yelled at very rudely by a "conductor" or "brakeman" for standing up while the train was moving on a tourist railroad. This person had no business with any public contact without undergoing a heavy duty lesson at what we used to call "charm school" on my home road. I think there was a sign somewhere that said that but I did not see it at first. This was on passenger equipment. On public transit, commuter lines and Amtrak standees are very common. Isn't it a bit overkill to require being seated at all times? I can see it on converted freight equipment like gondolas with benches and no stanchions, but the rudeness is never justified. If there is some particular reason please let me know.
