Yes, Larry and Lynda ran a class act, and not the least bit pretentious. The new owners have certainly turned it into a more extensive and well-known money-maker, but at great cost to the charm and authenticity that used to exist there. I know a lot of railfans still rave about the IW and its dining ($10 breakfast and $20 and up for dinner), and I agree it's still one of those places every railfan should experience at least once. But for my money, I'd rather spend a weekend at Quinns Hot Springs where you have cabins looking out across the Clark Fork River at MRL and a pool to relax in during the mid-day high sun or after a long day of shooting. Or better yet, just camped out along the railroad in proper railfan style, under the stars, burgers or steaks cooked over coals. Hey Dave, remember when you last saw me at Alta-Mont, when my son Sean was still in a stroller? He's now 17 and taller than me. Guess you won't be seeing him or me at Alta-Mont this year.
