Court Hammond is the "contractor" operating the WURA (Wallowa) line. He is also the principal behind the Yreka Western Railroad in Yreka, CA.

Some people believe that Mr. Hammond is responsible for running the Yreka Western into the ground. Perhaps not surprisingly for an operation that operating "on the edge" financially, there are also plenty of legal entanglements as well.
