The Milwaukee Tunnel at HYAK is intact.. All of the Milwaukee Bridges & Trestles are intact.. The Hull Creek damage was repaired some time back.. The right-of-way is part of the "John Wayne Trail"-- also referred to as the "Iron Horse Trail"...
The right-of-way WEST of the Columbia River was deeded by BNSF to the Washington State Parks Dept.., not the Dept of Natural Resources.

However, the WA Dept of Natural Resources has cognizance over the Columbia River Bridge between the Saddle Mtns and the hamlet of Beverley, WA. They will NOT cardeck the bridge and open it up to the TRAIL folks because they are scared of the high winds down the Gorge..

The WA State Parks "rangers" headquartered at Lake Easton State Park have control over the TRAIL and the TUNNEL at Hyak. Contact "THEM" with your questions and ideas.. OK ??
