The ancient bridge with the 70 ton weight limit still exists, just out of Springfield on the old Espee right of way.It spans the McKenzie River at a crossroads called Hendricks,OR. According to the book The Southern Pacific in Oregon, by Dill and Austin, this is the oldest surviving RR bridge in Oregon, dating back to 1882 !!!
Regarding the Espee 70 tonners, at least one was sold to the Modesto & Empire Traction RR.
