It's quite a distance from the SMART stop and the Graton Casino apparently does not want any public transit buses on its property so far. It could be a public perception thing; they want to come off as high class. Their machines are quite tight; they definitely want to get back their $800mil right away.
SMART will only operate a few schedules a day so it cannot replace the 101 or 80 trunk lines. I suspect there will be some conflict with NCRA-NWP over possessions of the ROW. The freights currently operated mostly in the middle of the day in the Petaluma area.
After a while they will rethink the whole thing when the ridership and cost figures are actual not projected.
