There are some Swiss lines where they have cylindrical wheels … funiculars.

The regular network all have tapered wheelsets, which are a necessity for stable and safe running at higher speeds and also through tighter curves.

Hunting is essentially an effect of a badly designed spring/damper system of the truck in relationship to the wheelbase (shorter wheelbase trucks start hunting at lower speeds). Hunting can be reasonably well suppressed using dampers.
