So back here in the Midwest we've got wind turbines, free wind, great economic logic BUT I fear
that the EMU's are going to suffer the same issues as the wind turbines and that's durability. The
commute run has never been something for the faint of heat and maybe that's a product, as Max states, of the train weights. The wind turbines which break even on rebuild costs at 36 months are
losing front bearing packs. I wonder how the prime movers and electric systems in the EMU's will
fair under the heavy (and frequent) acceleration loads.
