An Elecric Multiple Unit doesn't have a "prime mover", traction comes directly from the contact wire in the catenery. Depends on your traction voltage AC (25 or 50 KV vs DC and number of feeder substations as to how many high current draws per section. And control systems are not the same as traction circuits.
