I'll second the vote for the Mountain Inn in Tehachapi - great food, outstanding view. And don't forget the dining car restaurant in Spokane right next ti the tracks, although the view is pretty limited. There are several dining spots south of Devoore on Cajon including a Dennys and some other places on University Ave. (I won't begin to mention some of the taco joints on old rt. 66 is San Berdoo - you're welcome)

Too bad the Harvey House (for the matter, the whole darn station) at Barstow is in such a lousy location - that would be a GREAT place to eat. Why the Santa Fe placed it there has to be a mystery - as bad as Barstow is, having it way the heck and gone, on the other side of the tracks in the crappiest part of of a crappy town is really strange!
