Uh - NO!
Extremists that they are; they have been opposing those too - especially out in the Mojave where all the sunlight is.
But don'tyaknow, its all OK though. At least our enemies (yes Polyanna - we do have them) will never need to bomb us into the stone age. Since we will be going there with bells on, quite voluntarily; kick-marching all the way!
Too bad none this will have even the minutest effect on global warming - no matter whose politics wins, even if mankind's CO2 emissions are cut to ZERO. The Earth itself is belching enormous quantities of the stuff right out of the ground.
According to a couple of PBS programs and a BBC documentary put on about four years ago or so (one of them a Nova episode), much of the tropical Western Atlantic sea floor is emitting many thousands of tons of CO2 per year per square mile, as are many other places around the globe. The worst being two volcanoes in Africa (I forget their names - couldn't spell them anyway), which according to a Nova program on "Lake Overturn" (caused by natural CO2 emissions), are each putting out more tons of CO2 per day than the entire 200 years of industrialization did.
Now that would be quite a number! So lets see. If those estimates were even approximately correct, then 200 years * 365.25 days per year = 73050, then each day each volcano is putting out 73050 times as much CO2 as man ever did. Or in other words, each of these volcanoes is putting out 5.3 billion times more CO2 each day, than is the whole human race each day.
Put that another way, even if the politicians get rid of man's contribution entirely, it will cut total global CO2 emissions by only one ten-billionth! And that is just the emission from those two volcanoes. There are plenty more natural emissions elsewhere, which make man's efforts even smaller. Is it yet plain that these politicians are not going to "save the Earth" no matter what draconian steps they impose! Their promises to do so are therefore outright lies.
As well they should think, in their extreme pride and arrogance; that puny man is going to change the natural geological course of any planet. Whatever is gonna happen folks, and when, is already a done deal, warming or no warming! Our politicians would serve us much better by working to find ways to adapt to the inevitable, whatever it is; while there is still time (if adaptation is even possible).
But they would rather abuse global warming concerns to exercise extreme power and dominion over us - such as in the proudly declared "I'm now the most powerful woman in the world" (spoken by Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the House Floor in 2009).
