That's amusing. In the olde dayze, the High Iron was on the main line and the siding was made of whatever little stuff wasn't quite ready for scrap yet. Now the High Iron will be on the siding. Of course, with concrete ties it'll be obvious what's intended to be the main line, and for light passenger service and occasional (very occasional) freights 115# rail is more than enough if the rest of the track structure is up to snuff.
Other threads have noted that 136# is easily available and, for main lines, worthwhile to handle the recurring heavy loads; it became standard more or less for that reason. Rail doesn't HAVE to be that big for 286K cars, though, especially if the heavy loads are infrequent and freight speeds are slow, as long as the rest of the track structure is up to snuff.
