In Portland there is a paved public trail called the "Springwater Corridor" that runs parallel to the Oregon Pacific Railroad. After the OPR ROW was moved over to provide room to complete the trail, it quickly went downhill with transients camping along side of it, leaving all their trash, eyesores, and chopping down city trees then transporting it in shopping carts in order to provide wood for their campfires. Also, when there are events for the rail line such as Holiday Express in November and December some of the bicyclist that use the public thoroughfare will yell, complain, verbally and even physically assault pedestrians (yeup, seen it with my own eyes a few times) using the trail for other than bike purposes. All others not on two wheels be damned, it is their personal highway and impeding them in any way with other events makes you a subject of their crosshairs. Plus the speed that they try to blow through the crowds when a path exists mirrors that of a angry Tour de France race.

Also, riding the OPR's Saturday excursion I have witnessed bikers flipping the bird to the entire four car train and passengers as he rolled the opposite direction with no reasoning at all. Just angst.

BP, I assume you would be that type, correct?
